Proponents of the theory say that the leakage of the virus could - intentionally or accidentally - occur in a laboratory, from where it hit the market and spread around the world.
The WHO report said it was very likely that Covid reached humans from bats through an intermediate carrier. To this day, however, scientists have not found a virus that matches the genetic makeup of COVID-19 in bats or other animals.
